Age 10

Did you know why ancient people chose 12 for the number of months in a year, and 360 for the number of degrees in a full revolution? It all has to do the moon, with the sun and with factors!

In this activity, we will also learn about how how the 30x and 45x tables help us with clock angles and compass angles and all about acute, right, obtuse, straight and reflex angles.

In this activity we will have a great investigation into the angles inside a triangle, square and hexagon.

Then we will see if we can find triangles inside all these different shapes.

Finally, we will learn about the interior angles of different polygons.

The best way to understand how positive and negative numbers work is to use a number line.  The line can either go vertically or horizontally.

In this activity, you have to see if you can place the numbers correctly on the lines on the sheet.

IMPORTANT: THIS ACTIVITY IS NOT READY YET. THE VIDEOS ARE NOT FINISHED. LET ME KNOW IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO TRY IT AND I WILL MAKE THEM FOR YOU.

In this activity, we are going to find out where points end up if we make coordinates negative or positive.

Then we find out how to use coordinates to make points go in vertical lines, horizontal lines and diagonal lines.

In this activity we learn how to play with coordinates to make triangles reflect horizontally, vertically and diagonally.

Then we make them rotate!

After that we do the same thing with quadrilaterals.

Great fun!

‘Per’ means ‘out of’.

‘Cent’ means ‘100’.

So ‘percent’ means ‘out of 100’.

100 percent means 100 out of 100 which means the whole of something.

If you know 100% you can easily work out 50%, 25% and 75% of different numbers.

We can then go on to work out other percentages.
